New Year, New You

This is an idea I'm working with because I saw this and decided it's the kick in the pants that I need to revamp my personal practice. I'll flesh things out with a profile and some bio info in a while, but if I don't do this Right Now I'm going to keep stalling, so here goes.

The first prompt is Making Way, and she suggests that we do the following (paraphrased):

  1. Clean the house physically.
  2. Clean the house magically.
  3. Revamp schedules so that time spent is used to the best advantage, whatever that means for each person right now.
  4. Deal with the big bad baggage that is holding us back.
What I've done at this point:
  1. I live with housemates. My house is not spotless, but it's clean enough that I would be okay having my grandmother over, and that's good enough for me.
  2. We have a very well-warded home, and also we are ALWAYS raising positive energy and keeping things flowing. My house is not magically spotless, but it is definitely clean.
  3. Schedule is in progress as I look for balance between work and the rest of it.
  4. Baggage. This is the big one right now, and the one I am really putting up a fight about.  My baggage is financial debt, and a tendency to hold on to patterns and people long beyond the point where they become bad for me. This baggage has a physical component. There are four bins of paperwork, old letters, pay stubs, and bric-a-brac that goes back to high school. It's been re-boxed several times, combined and hidden away effectively, but these bins are the things I have refused to de-clutter the past nine times I've moved. I have cleared old clothes and books and blankets and games, no matter how hard it's been, but these boxes just get added to and ignored. So, that's my next project. I am moving in March, and by the end of January these bins must be done. I have a scanner at my disposal, and figure that I legitimately have about one container's worth of stuff that should be organized and kept in paper form. So that's the plan.Ugh.

  1. Clean enough to have your grandma over is a really good benchmark. :) Great start! Welcome to the experiment!

  2. Thanks! So glad I saw this, I've been feeling the need to make space and create, and structure helps me thrive.
